Boat trip with the Viking ship

The Viking ship Vargfotr is a replica of the famous Gokstad ship.
This was found in a burial mound in Sandefjord, measuring a full 23.8 metres in length. Vargfotr is slightly smaller than the original Gokstad ship.

From the Viking harbour, the voyage sets sail through historic waters. The trip is led by the chieftain. There are also other Vikings on board, qualified to sail the ship. If there is no wind, you’ll have to take the oars and row yourself, just as the Vikings would have done.

The boat departs from the harbour every half hour between 1200 and 1830, and you must select your departure time when purchasing a ticket.

The boat trip lasts between 10 and 25 minutes, depending on wind and weather conditions. Weather conditions may affect safety and lead to cancellations.
